Firstport and What if…Girvan are teaming up with Columba 1400 to offer people in Carrick the opportunity to take part in a Community Leadership Academy in 2018.

Girvan resident, Andrew Sinclair, has been awarded a £5000 Start It award from the Social Entrepreneurs Fund to pilot his social enterprise, Wecafé. The award was delivered by Firstport, Scotland’s start up social enterprise development agency.

What if…Girvan is looking forward to a busy year in 2018, continuing to support people with good business ideas that make a positive difference in Girvan and South Carrick villages. 

People in Ayrshire are being urged to come up with ideas for businesses that can benefit the South Carrick community.

A group of five budding entrepreneurs who live or work in the South Carrick area have been selected onto the first group of What if...Girvan, a social enterprise programme aiming to help local people to set up enterprises that make a positive, lasting difference in the area.
