West Dunbartonshire Challenge

Could you run your own business... and help your community along the way?

Are you interested in starting a social enterprise business that will make West Dunbartonshire a better place to live with better services, new jobs, more training opportunities and openings for volunteers?

West Dunbartonshire Social Enterprise Challenge is a collaboration between West Dunbartonshire Council and Scotland’s social enterprise development agency Firstport. One off awards of up to £15,000 are available, along with a full package of support and resources to enable ambitious individuals or groups to bring forward enterprising projects that can offer a long term solution to a social issue.

If you have energy, enthusiasm, commitment and the ambition to help your community, Firstport will work with you to develop your business idea. If you don’t have an idea, we can help you find one to get your business up and running.

Applications are now closed. Read about the 2017 winners.

We also have case studies featuring Charlie Sherry, a 2017 winner, and Amanda MacTaggart, who received an award in 2014.
