LaunchMe is an accelerator designed to grow social enterprises in Scotland. Commissioned by the Big Lottery Fund and launched by Firstport in 2014, the programme recognised that, while many social entrepreneurs are locally focused, some have the potential and ambition to do much more.
Our latest report explores the impact of the programme and our learning over the past three years.
LaunchMe is for social enterprises that are less than three years old, operating in Scotland, ready to scale up and increase their social impact and looking for investment and support to grow. The LaunchMe programme provides:
- £25K seed funding
- Investment readiness and business support
- Connections to social investors and access to industry mentors
- Opportunities for peer to peer support and learning
- Up to £100K of additional funding to match any investment secured
LaunchMe has also contributed to a changing marketplace for investment in social enterprise in Scotland. One of the greatest successes of the programme has been to nurture a pool of engaged, interested private investors who had never been involved in social enterprise before.
