Social Firms Scotland are here to support your social enterprise

January 30, 2019

Social Firms Scotland are here to offer further support for your social enterprise!

Social Firms Scotland is the national support agency for Social Firms - a specific type of Social Enterprise which creates employment, and meaningful work (incl training/volunteering opportunities) within the business for people who face significant barriers to employment – in particular, people with a disability (including mental ill health and learning disabilities) a substance abuse issue, a prison record, a homelessness issue and young people.

Their mission is to strengthen and grow the Social Firm community to create more opportunities for those people who experience significant barriers to work, so that people who experience difficulties gaining mainstream employment have the chance to improve their lives through meaningful work in a Social Firm.

They:

  • Raise the profile of Social Firms and their contribution to social inclusion, economic activity and health improvements.
  • Support the growth and capacity of Social Firms in Scotland, as well as their collective strength and impact.
  • Represent the interests of Social Firms to create a policy environment in which the sector can flourish.

They also facilitate the Employability SEN, one of the national thematic networks, for social enterprises who deliver employability outcomes.

If your social firm/enterprise increases social and economic inclusion through creating opportunities and improving employability for people furthest from the labour market, then They would love to hear from you.

Please contact Jayne (E: jayne.chappell@socialfirms.org.uk | T: 0131 225 4178 / 07738 061961) to discuss your organisation and how they might support you.
