Future Soccer Stars

Future Soccer Stars delivers high-quality soccer training to children aged from 18 months to nine years in Central Scotland.

It uses football as an engagement tool to develop children’s personal, social and communication skills while also including health promotion messages, such as healthy eating and positive reinforcement.

Social impact is delivered by working with parents and guardians and encouraging them to engage directly with their own child in a structured and positive manner through fun games and football.

Director Dominic McNally explained: “We incorporate educational themes such as shapes, colours, letters, numbers, communication, healthy choices, discipline, routine, posture and positive communication & bonding between child and parent.”

The enterprise works with playgroups, nurseries and groups in the Stirling and Falkirk areas, coaching around 125 children a week. They now want to roll the Future Soccer Stars programme out across Scotland with the help of LaunchMe, focusing on areas of multiple deprivation and providing funded and paid-for coaching to ensure access for all.

“We want every family in Scotland to have the opportunity to access world class developmental football coaching, regardless of affordability or location. We want to see a Future Soccer Stars programme in every region in Scotland, supported by our paying private customers in that area. In other words, to create a true, sustainable, social business.“

A “recipe book” of developmental football coaching is available to train new co-ordinators or other partners to deliver the syllabus.
